Interview with Jeremy Sperring, Partner, Frazier & Deeter

Jeremy SperringJeremy Sperring, CFO, Partner and COO for Frazier & Deeter, is interviewed by host Lorraine Chilvers in our May 30 2011 CFOradio broadcast. Sperring has a multiplicity of roles at this CPA firm that keeps him busy with day-to-day operations, business process efficiencies, and overseeing the administrative and technology functions of the firm in addition to his finance role. Listen as Jeremy describes his career path from audit manager to finance and operations executive.

Jeremy’s background includes performing audits, reviews, compilations and other assurance and attestation services of closely held companies. Additionally, he has extensive experience providing cash flow analysis, financial forecasting and corporate and individual income tax services. In the past, this M.A. Georgia Tech grad has worked with manufacturing, contracting, technology, distribution and professional service entities on the road to his current position.

Interview with Mary Madden, Chairman, Atlanta Office, NACD

Mary MaddenMary Madden is Chairman and Executive Director of the Atlanta office of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).  Mary recently grew Information America, Inc. from $0 to $25 million in profitable revenue with venture capital backing, executed an IPO, and finally the sale of the entire company. The venture capitalist doubled their money.

Mary has experience with several other early stage companies as well as large and later stage companies, who often acquire entrepreneurial companies.  She also has worked to turn around companies that have misjudged the market, ignored financial warning signs, become too complacent to change, or were unable to position themselves strategically in a particular market.

Mary has been active for eight years in the Central Eurasia Leadership Academy providing education and contacts for rising leaders in the nine countries of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Afghanistan.

Interview with Jim Wanserski, Founder of Wanserski & Associates

Jim WanserskiListen as CFOradio.com host Lorraine Chilvers interviews Jim Wanserski, founder of Wanserski & Associates.  Jim possesses 30 years of work experience: ten years in consulting, turnaround, financial operations; and over 20 years of telecommunications, high-tech and related services industry experience in finance, accounting and operational roles.  He has held internal audit, telecom management and executive positions with MCI, Telecom USA and Sprint, consulting management with a specialty telecom office within Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, and turnaround consulting with Morris Anderson & Associates, Ltd.

Jim Wanserski is sometimes referred to as a “fraud-buster,” having uncovered fraud multiple times during management roles at Sprint, Telecom USA, MCI, and having assisted several clients in their efforts to identify and/or prevent fraud. In today’s broadcast, Jim will draw upon those experiences, and will present in-depth views of his experiences.

Jim is an independent management consultant, a published author and speaker on a variety of fraud, ethics and operational topics.

Interview with Steve Voorhees, CFO of RockTenn

Steve VoorheesSteve Voorhees is the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of RockTenn, a leading manufacturer of packaging and merchandising displays.  With annual revenues of $3 billion, the Company operates more than 90 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.

Steve brings unique perspective to his position.  In this CFOradio broadcast, Steve discusses the CFO role as being one of both leading the numbers and mentoring the team.  It’s no wonder; one of his primary past-times is starting first baseman for the Greater Atlanta Braves Men’s Senior Baseball League, so he has an ample arsenal of sports analogies, valuable on and off the field.

Steve’s career is somewhat untraditional. His career began in Operations Management and transitioned to becoming a CFO when RockTenn’s CEO asked him to take the position.

Interview with Louise Fisher of Xerox Europe

Louise FisherLouise Fisher  is the Group Resources Director of XEROX in Europe, having held executive operations and HR roles in a variety of international blue-chip retail organizations including ICY/Fujitsu Services, Hurst Publishing Group and Woolworths.

Through her leadership not only in Europe but across other parts of the world she has a broad international experience of leading the HR functions of companies.  By her mid-twenties she had led the down-sizing of several thousand people.

In a career spanning 30 years, she is an expert in delivering major restructuring and organizational change programs, as well as in acquisitions and disposals – a role where she has worked very closely with CFOs of those companies to achieve success.
